Who does what, when?
Swiss solution
Jenialo is developed and run in Switzerland, on Swiss infrastructure: an Infomaniak VPS for the application and a database stored in Zurich. Your volunteers, contacts and donors never leave Swiss territory.
Where your data lives
The Jenialo application runs on an Infomaniak virtual private server (VPS). Infomaniak is an independent Swiss company based in Geneva that runs its own data centres in Switzerland and is not owned by any foreign group.
The database is hosted on Supabase, in the Zurich region: your records (volunteers, events, equipment, contributions) are physically stored on Swiss territory, not spread across a global infrastructure.
Backups follow the same rule and stay in Switzerland.

Data protection
Organisations handle sensitive data: volunteers' contact details (sometimes of minors) and donation histories. Where it is stored is not a detail.
Your data belongs to youYou remain the controller. We act only as a processor, on your instructions.
Export it any timeYour lists, participation records and contributions export to Excel whenever you want.
Never soldNo data is sold, rented or used for advertising.
DeletableWhen your subscription ends, your data is deleted or anonymised.
Encrypted connectionsAll traffic runs over HTTPS, end to end.
Controlled accessEach organisation sees only its own data, and you choose who can access what.
Your database is stored and backed up in Switzerland, in the Zurich region, and the application runs on an Infomaniak VPS in Switzerland. Only certain supporting technical services, such as sending notification emails, may process an email address to deliver the message, never the content of your database.
Two main ones: Infomaniak (Geneva) for the application server, and Supabase for the database, set up in the Zurich region. Supabase is an American company, but the instance we use stores your data in Switzerland. We do not use any region outside Swiss territory.
You, and the people you give access to. On our side, technical access is limited to the people who carry out maintenance, only when necessary, and it is logged.
You export your data before your subscription ends. It is then deleted or anonymised after a reasonable period, so it can still be recovered if something goes wrong.
Jenialo is designed around the Swiss FADP and follows the principles of the GDPR where it applies to your organisation, in particular if you process data about people living in the European Union.
